Variety reports that the plan is to air the flick later this season, and if successful, have a new series ready for fall 2008. Dave Andron (Raines) is penning the script and will exec-produce with Liman and Dave Bartis (Heist). The vision for this redo is to take advantage of current TV special effects to allow K.I.T.T. some Transformers-esque shapeshifting.

Setsuna, I tried to help you, but you didn't follow through after Ryoko did the dirty work, and I did casualty control. You still have us as friends, but we will have to come up with a plan B now. Jedite, I have a secret "Slush fund" that you could use. Besides, I need more bad guys to fight as does my squadron. We need to keep our edge, so when a Sharline or Himiko shows up... well you already know first hand what Senshi are capable of. Motoki, just get a couple of tribbles together and that will rouse the Klingons. We all know how much they hate each other, and it might be a lot of fun to watch.
