#15: “War on of Terror”

*** Now talking in #suburbansenshi
*** Topic is '-= This still pisses me off to this day =-'
<FireFly_9> Unbelievable.
<FireFly_9> "The air marshals' only explanation was that they didn't like the way he looked or the way he looked at them during the flight"
<GERMATOID> PEOPLE STILL USE PLANES THESE DAYS? I THOUGHT THE GOVERNMENT HAD STAMPED THAT OUT BY NOW?
<FireFly_9> This is utterly reprehensible.
<FireFly_9> A *doctor*, of all people, and a *veteran* to boot, was harassed, thrown in jail for three hours, allowed to contact *no one* and then released, all for the crime of not wanting to sit next to a criminal on an airplane
<// J_Daito //> Oh yeah you know this guy, right? What happened exactly
<FireFly_9> He was on the plane, which had landed. He was in the front of the plane, his wife was in the back (they had different class tickets for some reason) Some passenger in the rear had begun to make trouble, so the authorities handcuffed the troublemaker and sat him next to the doctor I'm talking about.
* --=[ SpeedRcrX ]=-- listens
<FireFly_9> He of course, became very uncomfortable at being seated next to a wild-eyed fellow in handcuffs, so he asked the stewardess to let him change seats to the other aisle. She said yes, and let him
<FireFly_9> But then the police officers came, and noted he had moved, and predictably, they went ballistic.
<FireFly_9> Suddenly the doctor was clamped in irons and hauled off, and all the while his wife was left in the dark as to why.
<--=[ SpeedRcrX ]=--> WTF
<FireFly_9> A Federal JUDGE who was also on the plane saw the incident and could not understand the policemen's actions
<[ Dr_Xadium ]> May I butt in?
<// J_Daito //> Oh look, it's the leech, err, parasite, err, Lawyer
<[ Dr_Xadium ]> I'm not a lawyer yet, you know. But I have some questions:
<[ Dr_Xadium ]> Was he read his miranda rights?
<FireFly_9> Not certain, I know the policemewnt roughed him up and hurled invectives at him as he was put into the police car
<// J_Daito //> Man anyone who watches COPS know they always do that [BLEEP]. They beat the [BLEEP] out of you then they tell you to "watch your head" on the way into the car
<--=[ SpeedRcrX ]=--> I always found that kinda funny
<[ Dr_Xadium ]> Was he formaly charged with a crime?
<FireFly_9> No. They kept him incommunicado, and wouldn't let him answer his cell phone, nor would *they* answer it (his wife was trying to find him)
<[ Dr_Xadium ]> And what about the men who hauled him off? Who are they?
<FireFly_9> They work for TSA (the transportation Security Agency) so they didn't bother to give their names. Actually, his wife, when she found out where he was finally, went to get him, and bumped into two of them-- not knowing if they were the ones, she asked if they had detained her husband, to which they said "no" and promptly left (she found out it was one of the men when she described him to her husband).
<[ Dr_Xadium ]> This is why all this "protection" of the names of airline security officers leaves me feeling a bit less secure
<FireFly_9> Also, the TSA men refused to fill in the local police (whose jail they were using to hold the doctor) as to the nature of his crime, so they couldn't even help.
<FireFly_9> Let me just say this man in question is about 45, he's a gentle fellow, not muscular or bearded or fitting any of the cliched "danger" signs that people have latched onto in the post 9-11 age, he's not even Muslim (not that that would matter). But he was--
* FireFly_9 doesn't want to think this way, but
<[ Dr_Xadium ]> I'll say it-- but he was *brown*. So they just said "I don't like the way he looked at me" and hauled him off
<[ Dr_Xadium ]> I'm sorry, but after hearing [BLEEP] like this I don't think I could look at a member of TSA very nicely at all.
<// J_Daito //> You better unless you want your ass hauled off to jail too
<[ Dr_Xadium ]> Welcome to the Homeland of Amerika.
<--=[ SpeedRcrX ]=--> So can he sue? get some cash for his pain?
<[ Dr_Xadium ]> Well he's got witnesses, but without the two agents (I'll bet they've been reassigned somewhere far away from the public eye) or their names, I dunno. And the USA-PATRIOT act gives the government wide latitude in classifying anything they want as being out of the reach of the courts. So I don't know... I wouldn't hold out hope for anyone suing the state these days.
<FireFly_9> Incredible.
<Mdm_Maestro> If you're innocent, you have nothing to worry about.
<--=[ SpeedRcrX ]=--> Hahahaha no
<// J_Daito //> Hmph. Why did you people even bother to *stop* us from taking over the world? At least the Dark Kingdom would have been fair and even-handed in its blatant suppression of human rights and dignity! All would have been crushed under our mighty heel! Honestly and in the open!
<GERMATOID> FURTHER PROOF OF THE NEED FOR RULE BY THE SCIENTIFIC ELITE! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
*** Disconnected
