My take - the titular singer represents the frustration and rage building in people due to an uncaring world, and finally the pressure builds to the breaking point, and there's an explosion of insanity as a result, causing the threat and implied violence we see at the end.
That a powderkeg is being created in those who are seeing themselves as left behind by society.
