<--=[ SpeedRcrX ]=--> Okay. Now I grew up on Voltron. Lived it. Breathed it. Was confused by it. (To my young mind there seemed to be three or four different beginnings to the show). I liked both the "lion" version and the "vehicle" version and almost
[BLEEP]ing died when the crossover special aired. Now I find out it was all a lie.
I
<--=[ SpeedRcrX ]=--> 've been searching for a Voltron FAQ for years. Today my big break came when I got the original name of the series,
Hyaku Ju O Goraion, or
Go-Lion, or even more simply
Golion.
<--=[ SpeedRcrX ]=--> As soon as I put that into Google I learned many horrible truths, which I will now share / inflict on you guys.
<// J_Daito //> Swell
"What about the Vehicle Voltron series? Was it originally Golion as well?
No. The VV series was dubbed from another Japanime series called
Kikou Kantai Dairugger XV."
<--=[ SpeedRcrX ]=--> So I'm thinking...
--the hell? I remember the crossover! Then I see this next bit:
But what about the Lion Voltron/Vehicle Voltron crossover "Fleet Of Doom"?
The "Fleet Of Doom" was never a crossover between the Golion and Dairugger XV series, it was completely conjured up by World Events Productions alone for the Voltron series. It was animated by TOEI though.
<--=[ SpeedRcrX ]=--> Dammit Toei.... you'll animate anything except a legit Dragonball / Sailor Moon crossover, won't you?! There goes one of the fondest memories of my childhood. So the pilots from both robots are NOT related. So they never really did fight together except in some American-Japanese co-produced alternate universe...
<--=[ SpeedRcrX ]=--> Source for all this is
here.
<--=[ SpeedRcrX ]=--> What the hell else am I gonna find out today? That KITT wasn't really a talking car, but a slightly modded Trans-Am with a dub Seiyuu?
<FireFly_9> Well, actually, in point of fact, KITT was...
<--=[ SpeedRcrX ]=--> Shut UP, Hotaru! SHUT UP!
