[20:44] <Morrigan> The Centaurians are a race facing extinction. Several years ago their world was invaded, but not by alien starships or Prinny-Marines.
[20:44] <Morrigan> They were invaded by an alien *ecosystem* that began to spread like a plague, devouring and killing everything around it.
[20:47] <Morrigan> First the Centaurians were hit by a series of pandemics that killed billions. Then new creatures began to appear - ravenous predatory worms that actually concentrated on the Centaurians themselves.

[20:49] <Morrigan> The Centaurians couldn't stop them. Over the next few years the worms kept getting more numerous, more evolved, and more dangerous. Now there's less than 800 million Centaurians still alive. Down from over 4 billion.
[20:51] <Morrigan> I'll give you an example...imagine a gigantic worm the size of an 18-wheeler with a gigantic mouth filled with multiple rows of foot-long fangs, grappling claws, thick armor plating able to resist 30mm autocannon rounds, and it can crawl at speeds over 50 miles per hour.
[20:51] <Morrigan> A Chtorr Gastropede...the worst of the worst.
[20:52] <David O`Cain> S[BLEEP]t, man. Sounds worse than a sandworm or a worm from Beetlejuice.
[20:52] <Morrigan> Except there is no Spice and shouting Beetlejuice three times in a row doesn't do anything.
[20:54] <Morrigan> If a Chtorr Millipede or Gastropede clamps onto you, you're dead. A Millipede will just bite the s[BLEEP]t out of you. A Gastropede will shove you into its mouth and if you're LUCKY you'll be dead. If not, you're alive as you're pulled further down its gullet and masticated by those teeth.

[20:55] <Morrigan> The plants, which are ALL toxic, kept growing and spreading, killing and replacing all of the original habitat. Animals began to die off, crops began to fail, even the oceans began to become tainted.

[20:57] <Morrigan> The Centaurians had some f[BLEEP]ked up politics too. Too many nations and not enough trust amongst them because the one faction they all loved to beat up on turned out to be the strongest and most devious, magnificent ba[BLEEP]rds of all.

[21:00] <Morrigan> The Commonwealth kept trying to form a global government, but everyone mostly distrusted them. Their researchers determined that it would take at least 50 to 300 years to defeat the Chtorr, but the longer they chose not to unify, the longer it would take.
[21:00] <Morrigan> If they DIDN'T unify, the Chtorr would exterminate them all in as soon as 10 years.
[21:02] <David O`Cain> The other factions must have s[BLEEP]t for brains, then.
[21:04] * Morrigan continues to let the hologram play. Now David can see a large number of starships approaching the planet. He should recognize several of the ship classes too: Oberon-class battleship, Astartes battle-barge, and several dozen Abh starships of various sizes.
[21:06] * Morrigan smiles as the ships all open fire on the planet simultaneously. Macrocannon barrages, lance cannon strikes, and massive missile barrages streak towards the planet and descend towards the world's surface. Seconds later tiny bright flashes of light begin to ripple across the planet's surface as the orbital bombardment strikes their targets: the greatest concentrations of Chtorr infestation.

[21:12] <Morrigan> When the Centaurians all went public with the news, the FEC fired nuclear missiles at several Commonwealth cities. We managed to stop all but two of them. The leaders of the FEC then got a message from someone by the title of the Governor-Militant.
[21:13] <Morrigan> The Free Economic Consortium believes that the Commonwealth was responsible for a list of insults and problems as long as your arm. Everything from economic oppression to cultural repression, you name it.
[21:14] <Morrigan> Some of it's actually real, but a lot of it wasn't The FEC just saw the Commonwealth as a big source of wealth and wanted it all for themselves by hook or crook.
[21:15] <Morrigan> They tried to present a big list of demands to the Federation and accused us of causing the Chtorr infestation. And cultural interference.
[21:15] <Morrigan> Oh yeah, who do you think they were talking to? ^____^
[21:16] <David O`Cain> Waaaaait. They accused you guys for the Chtorr infestation? I sincerely DOUBT that. Buncha d[BLEEP]ks.

[21:24] <Morrigan> The Centaurians are now in the process of receiving millions of tons of food, medical supplies, and weaponry that's actually highly effective against the Chtorr. The Fleet is obliterating the worst of the Chtorr "red zones", and the Imperial Guard is moving in to reinforce and support the Centaurian military. Fifty regiments are invading the FEC right now.

[00:09] * Simon Kerrick points to the very edge of the bay. There are men, wearing orange and other brightly-colored jumpsuits, and they are underneath shady trees, watching the waves, and gathering and eating some unknown fruit. Another one lashes together grass into a hat.

[00:10] *** There are small, grassy islands on the inland sea, and there are sheep and cows that graze and ruminate there. Toucans and oxpeckers sit atop their backs.

[21:20] <Filibert Wright> Know, then, that The Master controls such things upon his world, in an effort to make himself unassailable here.
[21:21] <Filibert Wright> There are forbidden areas here, where the weight of certain objects becomes untenable for even the most powerful bearer.
[21:21] <Filibert Wright> Will you be safe exploring as you are now?
[21:22] <Tiny Sand People> We should be. Are these forbidden areas marked?
[21:22] <Filibert Wright> Due their intended purpose in defense, they are not.
[21:22] <Filibert Wright> The Master feared invasion, and still does. It was narrowly prevailed upon him to accept your presence.
[21:23] *** The birds quiet, but monkeys raise their voices, and the rains softly begin.
[21:25] <Tiny Sand People> Well, in that case, we shall accept your guidance, today. If metals are a problem, we can create alternate methods operation in future.

[21:27] * Filibert Wright carries the Tiny Sand People's cruiser through some really really REALLY tall grass, and suddenly, standing before them, is a massive African Elephant, 12-15 feet high, with an ornately carved palace affixed upon its back. The raindrops fall through holes in the cieling in tiny fountains, and hand-carved wooden furniture is already in place in great abundance.
[21:28] *** The Elephant just stands there, eating.
[21:28] * Tiny Sand People examine the palace, carefully, with architect's eyes.
[21:29] * Filibert Wright points to the palanquin. It's already very beautifully carved. It has cedar roofing, and has flowers growing at the corners in pots. It looks like it could command an incredible view, and at their scale, this dwelling is the size of a castle.
[21:30] * Tiny Sand People nod.
[21:30] <Tiny Sand People> May we tour the interior?
[21:31] <Filibert Wright> Certainly, honored guests.
[21:32] * Tiny Sand People float their craft next to the Palanquin entrance and send a few representatives inside.
[21:32] * Filibert Wright hangs the platter the craft is resting upon to a long boat-hook-like device, and sets the craft and landing pad on top of the Elephant Palanquin. There is an easy space to do so, and many sets of stairs go down to other rooms.
[21:32] * Tiny Sand People 's representatives send video imagery back to the main craft.
[21:35] *** The electronics system seems to be acting very very very strangely on Enclave. It's not very reliable.
[21:36] *** From the top of the Elephant, all kinds of things can be seen. There is a mountain in the distance wreathed in fog and crystal. There is a line of thatched dwellings, numerous groves of fruited trees, and what appear to be storage containers or boxcars with people lounging atop them, carving, weaving, or singing.
[21:36] <Tiny Sand People> Hmm. We seem to be having electrical issues. We will definitely need to take that into account.
[21:37] <Filibert Wright> On my master's behalf, I apologize. He did not indicate he viewed technological progress as completely necessary for civilization. I am forbidden to say more.
[21:38] * Tiny Sand People are mentally updating their ship designs and building plans.
[21:38] <Filibert Wright> I can, however, note that Enclave is a world that fosters natural cooperation. There is more ecological productivity here, and in greater endurance, than even the most mature rainforest.
[21:39] * Tiny Sand People check their hydraulics for issues on a mechanical front.
[21:39] <Filibert Wright> If the ability to feed your civilization is what you seek, Enclave can supply it ad infinitum.
[21:39] *** Those work fine, but messaging systems seem wonky.
[21:40] <Tiny Sand People> Food is not an overriding issue for us. But organic materials and volatiles are always useful.
[21:40] <Filibert Wright> Volatiles?
[21:42] <Tiny Sand People> Water, nitrogen gas, oxygen.
[21:42] <Tiny Sand People> Those sort of things.
[21:42] <Filibert Wright> The Sovereign can produces water at will here.
[21:42] <Filibert Wright> Such will not be an issue during your residence, though it is uncertain how long it would last outside this realm?

[21:43] *** The rain lessens, and lots of reservoirs are filled inside the little palace. There are shuttered windows, ornately carved floors, courtyards with roofs of fish-scales, and balconies covered in fine moss.
[21:44] <Filibert Wright> Rythmic shouting is heard in the distance.

[21:45] <Filibert Wright> Are you curious about the other residences available?
[21:46] <Tiny Sand People> Certainly. Lets get our representatives back and we will continue on.

[21:47] * Tiny Sand People recall their explorers, double checking that the scale is appropriate.
[21:47] *** More shouting is heard in the distance, with counting heard in the middle of it.
[21:48] * Filibert Wright takes the suspension pole, and brings the craft off of the top of the Elephant. He holds it again, and walks through the forest. The elephant turns and leaves.
[21:48] * Tiny Sand People count their crew and prepare to leave.
[21:49] * Filibert Wright Keeps moving, and the wash of surf can slowly be heard. Bees go by, and nestle themselves in huge flowers. There seem to be mice underfoot.
[21:50] * Tiny Sand People observe everything carefully.
[21:50] *** The tour stops in front of a huge bay. There is an ornate structure that sits atop a small sea stack, with different decks and rooms carved into it. Two trees are nearby, and reach over it with their branches which contain a strange, orange-green striped fruit.
[21:52] <Tiny Sand People> Oh, that looks very nice.
[21:52] *** The island at the very center of the bay is in clear view now, though it looks miles away. The gentle surf washes the sand, and every few feet, there are cypress-like trees dripping with seemingly-unending supplies of fruit. There is a slight breeze, which brings the scent of the countless lillies that flower upon the water for hundreds and hundreds of meters.
[21:54] <Tiny Sand People> The fecundity of the area is incredible.
[21:54] *** The seastack is set at the end of a peninsula covered with gleaming sand, and there are candles mounted at different lookouts and balconies scaled for the guests. Egrets walk in the water nearby.
[21:54] <Filibert Wright> It is as the World's Sovereign commands.
[21:54] <Filibert Wright> These are trees like no other, and their fruit is inexhaustible in every season.
[21:55] <Tiny Sand People> Incredible.
[21:55] <Filibert Wright> I cannot urge you strongly enough, however, to NEVER allow metal to touch this water.
[21:56] <Tiny Sand People> Could you show us the effect?
[21:56] * Filibert Wright does not walk any closer upon the sand. Wisteria-like flowers hang from the overhead branches, and crickets chirp from somewhere.
[21:56] <Filibert Wright> I do not think that would be safe or wise, honored guests.

[21:57] <Tiny Sand People> That dangerous. We will be limited in some of the assistance we can provide then. But there are many ways to help.

[21:59] <Filibert Wright> I believe my master would eagerly trade an effectively unlimited amount with you if this knowledge was made clear to him.
