[20:12] <Dr. Sakamoto> Since we tested the size of your body last time for boots, I've made some boot orthotics for you. They should be in the cabinet in the wall. You should take off your shoes and socks, and put them on before you sit in the chair.

[20:37] *** D. Kakaku can feel, but not see, a padded mechanism clamp around his neck. He cannot sit up anymore.

[20:38] <Dr. Sakamoto> Okay, I'm deploying the infrared scanners to monitor for hypothermia now. The chair can circulate water for hours if ncessary, which will cool you off since you cannot move.

[20:39] *** The viewscreen turns off, though D.Kakaku couldn't really see much of it anyway, since it was obscured by the goggles.
[20:39] *** The sound of a door opening can be heard, as well as some medical carts being wheeled into the room.

[20:40] *** Footsteps can be heared, but because of the total lack of peripheral vision, all D.Kakaku can see is the ceiling, unless he turns his head.
[20:40] <Dr. Sakamoto> Okay, just relax, and we can do the control tests first.

[20:41] <Dr. Sakamoto> Alright. Now I'm going to fasten the head restraint now, so that we can align the optics on you....

[20:42] *** There is fumbling and clicking, and then the sides of D. Kakaku's head feel like they are in a firm but-inescapable hug.

[20:42] * D. Kakaku says this not able to move

[20:44] * Dr. Sakamoto wheels over an unusual contraption with what appears like two small TV screens set about 3 inches apart on short tubes. There's also an oronasal mask attached to them with a harness.

[20:45] * Dr. Sakamoto lowers down the two TV screens, and since D. Kakaku cannot move his head, they actually slide INTO the openings in his goggles. His field of view turns black.
[20:45] <Dr. Sakamoto> Okay, perfect, perfect.
[20:45] <Dr. Sakamoto> Let's turn them on....
[20:46] *** D.Kakaku can now, apparently, see a person restrained in a chair, (almost certainly him), being attended by a woman in surgical gear. Another nurse waits in a corner, and another one wheels up what looks like a feather-dusting robot.
[20:47] <D. Kakaku> hmmm?
[20:48] *** D.Kakaku can now see Dr. Sakamoto attaching the anesthetic mask over his nose and mouth. He cannot do anything to stop it, but it least it is clear what is happening. ALSO, the other nurse hooks up the rotating feather brushes of the short machine to where they touch the inside of his boots. Once they are connected, he can feel the immobile feathers on his feet, but there's literally no way that he can do about it.
[20:49] <Dr. Sakamoto> There we go... Okay, and let's turn it on, and get a good baseling sensory measurement going.
[20:50] <D. Kakaku> hmhm hehe
[20:50] *** First, i'll just put this EEG headgear on you so we can monitor your brainwaves... and here is some biosensors for your heartrate and oxygen saturation. (The staff put all this on him.)

[20:52] <Dr. Sakamoto> Okay, excellent. I'll just switch the feed...
[20:52] *** The screens in the goggles no longer show him himself in the room, but an empty control booth with dials and buttons.

[20:52] * Dr. Sakamoto talks into a microphone. "Okay, everything looks great, so we are going to begin the test!"
[20:53] *** The rotating brushes start tickling the bottom of D.Kakaku's immobile feet.

[20:54] * Dr. Sakamoto slowly dials up the intensity, monitoring the lifesigns.

[20:57] <Dr. Sakamoto> Now I'm going to add something to your breathing feed.

[20:57] *** There's a noticable smell that comes through the mask, and the sensation of being tickled---and everything else--slowly starts to fade.

[21:02] *** The spinning brushes come back on, and go off, with varying intensity, but each time they do, the smell of anesthetic becomes stronger, and it become harder to focus or feel things. Sometimes, when it smells some ways, the room feels like it is spinning even though D. Kakaku is definitely stock-still.

[21:05] *** Finally, the sensations fully end, and there is only darkness.
